It's been so very long, so many years
,

of the constant battle, the many tears.

The hurt and the pain that I've inflicted on those I love.

Of ignoring the voice of reason from the God above.

Of being alive and feeling nothing at all.

Except for the need of the bottle. That was my only call.

The sacrifice of others meant nothing to me.

Give me that drink that's all that needed to be.

I thank God that I'm here today sober and clean.  Enjoying the start of this day, feeling alive and

knowing what it means.

Through prayer and others that are clean and sober, too.

By listening and understanding, I now know what to do.

Is not take a drink.  One is way too many.

One day at a time, and there won't be any...

More despair and hopelessness, a bright sober future there will be be.

Finally my family and those who care can accept and see.

That I'm back among the living, and I will stay that way.

One day at a time, One day with AA.

I loved the food, the staff, and the feeling of being safe and cared about.  I learned about the 12 steps of recovery and tools that I could use in my own life.   I was treated with dignity and respect.  The Empire saved my life!

"I would like to thank the Empire recovery Center  for saving my life!"

I came here lost, hopeless, broken; spiritually and mentally.  My absolute bottom brought me to the Empire Recovery Center in Redding.  I was truly desperate and in need of a new direction. The first week brought me honesty, open-mindedness and willingness. I believe this was the beginning of something great. I can finally be at peace with myself.  I credit this new found peace with the program.  I so appreciate the Empire Recovery Center, my advocate, and the staff for giving me new hope.                Jason                                                                               Nov. 2014

"The Empire Recovery Center  taught me how to live life on life's terms.  I came with absolutely nothing but the clothes on my back.  A year later I have my family, work, and I'm happy, joyous and free."
